S/4HANA BlackLine GFS Technology Analyst 

Location: Warsaw

Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office

The Axial Programme will be powered by S/4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient. 

The R2R System Accountants team currently supports 2 instances of Blackline, a 3rd instance “S/4 Blackline” is being built which will interface with the S/4 SAP system. 

This role represents the R2R System Accountants engagement in the Axial programme and is responsible for ensuring effective implementation of S/4 Blackline instance changes requested by Axial project and BAU teams. Close collaboration with number of teams and stakeholders (BL vendor, Business Technology Group, Enterprise Process Lead, Global Process Owner, Global Process Delivery Director and GFS Technology and Compliance Director) will be critical for this role.  This position is a key connection point between Axial/GFS Technology teams and IT to ensure successful technical implementation of all change requests that come from Axial team and business owners for S/4  BlackLine system. 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Assessment new scenarios/changes to S/4 BlackLine requested by the Axial project  
  • Align on changes with Project and IT teams 
  • Supervise the team of GFS Technology analysts assigned for supporting S/4 BL system remediation and change implementation 
  • Ensure system analysts are properly trained by teams to be capable of delivering system support and implement change to the new environment built for S4HANA  
  • Once the deployment plan and change requests are communicated, you will be responsible for executing tasks to deliver it.  This will include defining further review of S/4 BL design to provide feedback to the project management team 
  • Assessment of impact of the current design and validations on the rec and journal process of the entity in scope. 
  • Documentation maintenance Design Decisions, Global Settings Workbook, BlackLine Data Collection Workbook. Request update to update Technical Design Document and Functional Design Document when required. 
  • Responsible for SIT, UAT and Cutover tasks assigned to GFS Technology 
  • Coordinate with the BL vendor to ensure completion of the incremental build components. 
  • Identify and embed best practice ways of working across the teams delivering BlackLine for Axial 
  • Design training for GFS Technology (R2R) team members to mitigate the resource and skillset risk 
  • Support System Delivery Associate Director in system ownership for new BL solution 
  • Through the system analysts provide a clear escalation route for system issues impacting GFS systems 
  • Provide support for and implement as needed changes/improvements to GFS systems including actions required to resolve issues 
  • Partnering with IT, vendors and others as accountable for system issues and their resolution, continuity of services and maintenance. 
  • Business Continuity - support the recovery plans in the event of an incident (system outage or other) 
  • Compliance - own specific system risks as needed including tracking actions/mitigations. Where required ensure formal controls over risks (SOx, FCF, other) are operating effectively 

Education, Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential

  • Deep knowledge of finance systems and applications, specifically SAP (S/4) and Blackline 
  • Capability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Able to lead, motivate and develop teams through periods of transformation  
    (organizational and technological) 
  • Skilled in change impact assessment on a global function across technology and process 
  • Thorough knowledge practical understanding of Record To Report process 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively 
  • Experience in triage and root cause analysis for system incidents 
  • Energetic and self-motivated finance professional 
  • Experience of working in a big project in a demanding and complex environment 
  • Experience of working in a SOx compliant environment 
  • System support background 

Desirable

  • Track record of delivering large transformation S/4 projects in a large corporate environment either from within a large company’s Finance/Technology team or implementation consultant role 
  • Able to manage complex/multiple dependencies and large areas of uncertainty and still make meaningful strides forward or make appropriate assumptions. 
  • Experience in working with external partners such as system integrators to define scope and needs in line with the deployment approach.   
  • Programming skills (VBA, Python, Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, etc.) 
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification.
